Let's Catch Up

At this point I'm even tired of hearing myself say things like "I've been a total failure at blogging lately" or "I love blogging! I just don't have time for it." Not that those statements aren't true (totally are), but I'm just not going to say them this time.

See what I did there?

Anyway, here's some of what's going on around here!

1. Loren and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary! SO hard to believe that it has been that long ago. We are so very blessed - our married life has been so great and we seriously just enjoy each other so much! We make each other laugh and prefer each other's company over anyone else in the world. I am SO thankful that the Lord gave me the man He did! I cannot imagine living my life with ANY other guy!
Also, this happened on our anniversary date. I did not feel guilty. It was incredible.

2. I took the week of our anniversary off work for a little "staycation" -which I highly recommend, unless you like lazy do-nothing vacations. I was more tired and sore after my week at home than I was after a work week where I am exercising every day! Mostly because we decided to paint our kitchen blue!!

I had decided awhile ago that I was kind of tired of the yellow in our kitchen. Not that it was terrible, but I kept seeing pictures of really beautiful blue/gray/greenish tones in people's homes, and I decided it was time for a change. Goodbye, yellow! It was a fun 4 years...

We used a Martha Stewart paint color from Home Depot named Aegean Blue. We used the Behr brand paint, and honestly, I wish we would have paid more for the premium paint + primer they sell there, because we had to do 2 full coats. But hey, you live and learn! And, now that we have learned to look past all the tiny mistakes you see when you are carefully peeling painter's tape off every. single. edge. of your kitchen, we are thrilled with how it turned out.

3. In other news, Stella turned 2! Also hard to believe that she's not a tiny little puppy anymore, but pretty much a full fledged lazy dog who sleeps alot and lays around the house in extremely close proximity to wherever we are. She is such a good little friend. One of my favorite parts of life.

I'm apparently a really terrible photographer since I can't even keep my finger out of the frame!

What have you been up to lately?
