By now you've probably heard that I'm doing a Whole30 starting January 1. Essentially, the program is a 30 day nutritional reset where you focus all of your meals on eating animal protein, vegetables, healthy fats and oils, and the occasional serving of fruit. You cut out all dairy, all added sugar, all legumes, and all grains. No white potatoes, no crazy long, hard-to-pronounce ingredient lists - just whole, natural, good, simple foods.

While it will be challenging, I'm excited about trying something "difficult" that will inevitably be good for my body! On the Whole9Life forums, lots of people post their daily food/workout as a kind of accountability journal. I figured I'd blog about it instead! I can't and won't promise an every day post, because let's face it, nobody (even me) really cares that much about it, and I've pretty much decided that daily blogging is not conducive to my current lifestyle. But, I will post frequently about things I've found interesting, yummy, gross, or whatever.

Over the weekend we took a trip to stock up on some Whole30 Approved groceries at Whole Foods and Trader Joes. Several cans of coconut milk, creamed coconut, pastured butter, organic ghee, dried apricots (without any extra ingredients), an acorn squash, and some curry paste later, I think we are ready!

Wish us luck and be sure to check in next week to see how it's going!
