High Five for Friday!

I'm linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk for High Five for Friday!

Top Five happenings of this week. Here we go!

1. I sold my very first cake topper on Esty!!! I woke up Tuesday morning to an email confirming my first order ever. I am so excited and now just anxiously waiting for the unfinished letter to arrive so I can begin! YAY Etsy!

2. Spent New Year's weekend in Branson, MO with my parents and sister and her husband. We had such a great time! We really enjoyed the time to get away for a few days, make some memories, and connect with family. We stayed in a beautiful log cabin/condo that was perfect for the 6 of us. We even got hooked up with free tickets to Sight & Sound Theatre on Friday night, and we rang in the new year with the fabulous Dolly Parton at Dixie Stampede on Saturday night!

(If you have never been to a Branson show, it is truly a life experience. You have not really seen gaudy or over-the-top until you have been to Branson! Also, a surprisingly high population of well-past-middle-aged good ole' boys and ladies in one place. It is quite the town.)

3. After 10 long, luxurious, highly productive, and satisfying days of vacation, it was back to work I went on Tuesday. That wasn't exactly the highlight, but one of the best things this week that has ever happened in my whole life is getting to come in every day at 9am instead of 8am! It is amazing what a difference one hour makes. The bed has been made every single morning. I have made my own lunch every single day. I have eaten breakfast at my kitchen table instead of in my car  or even at my desk. I have spent significant time with Lord every single day. I have had time to curl my hair! I can spare more than 30 seconds to pick out my outfit and not worry that I am already running late! Who knew 9am could ever feel so wonderfully late??

4. The weather around here has been truly amazing lately. 65 degrees today in Kansas City! It almost feels like we reverted back to fall and skipped winter altogether. For someone who truly hates snowy/icy/frigid weather, I have been especially grateful that it is January and I haven't had to attempt driving in any type of frozen anything yet. Today I had my windows open, and even read for a little while on our screened in back porch! I am loving it while it lasts!

5. I planned ahead and cooked meals for every night this week that have both been tasty and low-calorie! Plus, we've used all of our leftovers! With the exception of a few bites of leftover Christmas candy, it's been a pretty good get-back-on-the-wagon week.
