Thanksgiving!

I took a few days off, I guess. I really do feel like I just sat down for the first time in days, even though I know that's not really true (I ate four Thanksgiving dinners sitting down this past week, thank you very much!). Here's a little recap/things I'm thankful for since last time:

November 23 : I'm thankful for ... this much needed long weekend. I have loved the extra time to spend at home with my husband and puppy, and the opportunity to catch up on stuff around the house and decorate for Christmas - in addition to spending tons of time with family for the holiday! We have jam-packed this weekend full of activity, but the change of pace has been so refreshing.

November 24 : I'm thankful for ... a relationship with Jesus. He is the giver of all good gifts, and every good thing I can think of in my life is because of Him. I would not have the privilege of a relationship with Him if it weren't for the willing sacrifice of His life for me. He made all things right and new and changed and redeemed and when I talk about all of these things I am thankful for, I often think how He really is the source of it all. I am thankful for Him.

November 25 : I'm thankful that ... all of our family lives close enough that we get to spend holidays with everyone. We get to see all aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents for most holidays. I don't want to take that for granted, because I know it is a rare blessing. This weekend was no exception and I was thankful to be able to spend time and catch up with all of our families

November 26 : I'm thankful for ... the generosity of my parents. For the past four years, they have bought tickets for us to go to the MU vs. KU Border War game the weekend after Thanksgiving. Loren and I have been able to go every year since we started dating! It is always a blast, and one of the only football games I pay close attention to. But today I was especially thankful for Dad & Mom and how they are always giving so freely and generously to all of us kids. We feel so consistently blessed by them.

In some other news
1) I finished decorating my house for Christmas over this weekend, and I'm pretty excited about how things turned out. I'm still trying to see if I can find some great deals on a few finishing touches, and I did a couple DIY things that I will share pictures and details about them soon!

2) My sister asked me to give a toast at her wedding reception in TWO WEEKS since I am the matron of honor! So while I figure out exactly what I want to say, look for some funny stories that are share-worthy, but didn't make the speech cut.

3) ;'''p  .... Stella decided she could step on my keyboard and leave a little message of her own.
