Thankfulness Day 18 & 19

November 18 : I'm thankful for ... weddings! One of Loren's cousins got married on Friday night, and the wedding was absolutely beautiful! Before I got married, I liked going to weddings because they were pretty and I like sparkly things and pretty dressesflowerscakesdecorations, etc. But now that I've had my own wedding and lived through 17 months of marriage, I love going to weddings because they are so significant. Being at someone else's wedding brings back a flood of memories about my own wedding, and what a sacred day it was. I always find myself praying for the bride and groom that the gravity and sacredness of the covenant they are making with the Lord that day is not lost in the midst of the crazy, busy, surreal activities going on around them. I am thankful for the Lord's faithful presence in wedding ceremonies and in my marriage.

November 19 : I'm thankful for ... Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving has been my favorite holiday for as long as I can remember. What's not to love? It isn't (usually) bitter cold outside, so the weather is still enjoyable. Everyone pulls out all the stops to make amazing food. And, it is the official kick-off to an entire month of festivities!  We started Thanksgiving Week today by having our first turkey dinner with some extended family. The weather was beautiful, the food was all delicious, and it was great to catch up with family that we don't get to see all that often. We are very blessed.
Plus, Loren enjoyed beating all of his cousins at football.
